Sematic Web

The Sematic web sounds really cool since it sounds like it allows a computer to go on the web by itself. It sounds very interesting since i can only imagine how tough it must have been to do this.

Symbolic colors

Colors can mean different things depending where you are. As shown on the site http://www.three-musketeers.net/mike/colors.html colors like color in Japan can symbolize feminity, and purity. While this site http://www.color-wheel-pro.com/color-meaning.html says that blue is considered a masculine color annd represents depth, and expertise. Also despite sometimes having different meanings the colors can also mean the same such as how black is considered a color for evil and fear or red is considered the color for infactuation. As you can see colors can have very different meanings around the world.

Network Neutrality

Network Neutrality is free of restriction on contents, site, or platforms, on the kind of equipment that may be attached, and on the modes of comunication allowed, as well as where communication is not unreasnobly degraded by other communication streams.

I read a article on newtwork neutrality it explained how the new chairman of the federal communications commision wrote some rules that told internet browers to do something that they already claim to do: deliver online content without discrimination. It also shows how some of them only seem to provide this.

People of Walmart

Recently i saw he "people of walmart" website and i think the website was pretty funny but very disturbing too. The website is good for a few laughs but also bad since many of those may not have known that someone took a picture of them or something of theres. I think that widespread technology that enables us to do this is probobly negative since you never know just how the pics shown could have an efffect on someones life. The pics also probobly embarrased or insult them since many of the pics have comments that insult the person. Not really sure how someone can use this kind of website for good though besides making alot of people laugh.

Technology: AJAX

Ajax, sometimes written as AJAX (shorthand for asynchronouss JavaScript and XML), is a group of interrelated web development techniques used on the client-side to create interactive web applications or rich Internet applications. With Ajax, web applications can retrieve data from the server asynchronously in the background without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page. The use of Ajax has led to an increase in interactive or dynamic interfaces on web pages and better quality of Web services due to the asynchronous mode. The term Ajax was coined as shorthand for - Asynchronous JavaScript and XML by a man named Jesse James Garrett.
